Scholar Athlete: St. Anne Pacelli Golf, Maddy Zimmermann

St. Anne Pacelli senior Maddy Zimmermann is ready to continue her playing career at Springhill College. She signed with the division two private school for golf back in February.

“Now I’ve just been able to go visit and meet with the coaches and the other players and, so it takes a lot of stress off to know where you’re going really early,” says St. Anne Pacelli senior golfer Maddy Zimmermann.

Before she graduates in May, she has the area championships in the next few weeks and hopes to qualify for state. Her personal goals follow her into the classroom as well.

“I would like to get my GPA up a little bit more. I want to pass a couple more AP exams, so I can get some more credit for college,” says Zimmermann.

That GPA she’d like to raise is already at a 4.2 and has been enrolled in 7 AP classes.

In the fall she is the captain of the volleyball team and in the freetime she has, outside of sports and her studies, is in every honors society at Pacelli.

“National honor society, national science honor society, I’m president of national Italian honor society, national English honor society, there’s a national math honor society and yeah that’s it,” says Zimmermann.

With all of that on her plate she says she’s mastered time management.

“Because I’ve got to know, well I have a meeting after school today, but then I can go to the golf course for a couple hours to practice, because I have a match coming up this week, so it’s kept me really good at time management,” says Zimmermann.

Congratulations to Maddy Zimmermann of St. Anne Pacelli Catholic School, this week’s WLTZ scholar athlete.
