Clearing Skies for Monday, More Severe Weather Late Week
THREAT OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THURSDAY EVENING INTO EARLY FRIDAY MORNING
After our severe weather episode yesterday, Monday morning is starting out chilly and raw with temperatures in the 40s and 50s and gusty northwest winds making it feel colder. Clouds should decrease by afternoon, with highs a couple of degrees either side of 70 across the viewing area.
A warmup will commence this week with highs back in the 80s by Wednesday and Thursday.
A storm system that will gather strength to our west this week will bring us another chance of severe weather, especially in the late Thursday evening timeframe. This system may be a little more potent than the one that brought us severe weather on Sunday, with a greater chance of supercell thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes. We’ll have a few days to nail down the specific threats.
Another cooldown is in store behind Friday’s storm system, giving way to a beautiful and seasonably cool weekend.
