Tornado Warning Russell County

Until 9:15 am CDT

WLTZ is tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of spawning a tornado over parts of Russell county, AL until 9:15 am cdt this morning.   Said storm is moving toward the northeast at 35 mph and will be approaching portions of Chattahoochee and Muscogee counties soon.   If you are in the path of these storms, you should take cover in the lowest level of your home, or move to a sturdy shelter.   Always remember to put as many walls in between you and the outside as possible.  This is why an interior bathroom is usually the best place to protect yourself.

A tornado watch remains in effect across Alabama until 9am cdt this morning, and for most of Georgia until 2pm edt this afternoon.
