Tornado and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings In Effect

Tornado Watch Continues

WLTZ is tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of spawning a tornado over parts of Russell county, AL until 9:15 am cdt this morning.   A severe thunderstorm warning is also in effect for Harris, Muscogee and Chattahoochee counties until 10:30 am edt.  These storms are moving toward the northeast at 35-40 mph and have been accompanied with damaging wind gusts. If you are in the path of these storms, you should take cover in the lowest level of your home, or move to a sturdy shelter.   Always remember to put as many walls in between you and the outside as possible.  This is why an interior bathroom is usually the best place to protect yourself.

A tornado watch remains in effect across Alabama until 10am cdt this morning, and for most of Georgia until 2pm edt this afternoon.
