A Controversial Call and No Call Ended The Auburn Tigers Season
INSIDE THE AUBURN LOCKER ROOM MINUTES AFTER THEIR FINAL FOUR LOSS TO VIRGINIA
The Auburn Tigers are not competing for a National title on Monday night, their season came to an end after two of the most controversial calls in the history of college basketball.
A blatant missed call on Ty Jermome’s double dribble and a tough foul call in the corner with .6 seconds left in the game proved to be the difference as the Tigers lost by one.
“It came down to that last call, tough call to make. I just don’t feel like it should have ended like that,” said Senior Shooting Guard Bryce Brown.
“Refs are going to miss calls, they’re human,” says Junior Point Guard Jared Harper. “We didn’t lose that game in the last possession there, there were other things that happened throughout the game.”
While it was a painful way to end the season for the Auburn Tigers, they made history in a number of ways. It was their winningest season of all time, going 30-10 and making their first Final Four appearance in program history.
