Scattered Storms This Weekend
BETTER RAIN AND STORM CHANCES MONDAY; WARMUP FOR MIDWEEK
After a batch of rain and showers moved through the area overnight, we’ll see some scattered showers and thunderstorms as daytime heating goes to work on the humid air mass over our area. Patches of sunshine will peek through the clouds later today, elevating temperatures into the mid to upper 70s for highs. A couple of storms may be on the strong side with gusty winds and hail possible, especially south of U.S. 82.
A little more sunshine will enter the picture for the weekend with highs around the 80 degree mark and scattered showers and thunderstorms possible at any point in time. One or two storms may also be strong during this time period.
On Monday, rain and storm chances will be greatest as a cold front and associated disturbance move closer to the area. More widespread coverage of thunderstorms, a few possibly severe, may be in the cards.
After the front clears the area, rain-free conditions and mostly sunny skies will take hold for the middle of next week, with highs in the lower to middle 80s.
