Warmup for Wednesday, Storms to End Week

After a chilly start this morning with temperatures in the 30s and 40s, the April sun will go to work and warm things up quickly. Temperatures should be approaching the 70 degree mark by the lunch hour and will eclipse that mark into the afternoon, with highs topping out in the lower to middle 70s today under sunny skies.

Thursday looks to be even warmer with highs in the 75-80 degree range before a disturbance increases moisture and cloud cover for Thursday night into the weekend.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible from early Friday through Monday. While widespread severe weather is not currently anticipated, one or two strong storms are not out of the question through the weekend into Monday, with gusty winds and small hail the main threats. The rainfall won’t be an all-day event any day, either; in between the raindrops, temperatures will be warm with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s.

A cold front will move through by Tuesday of next week, clearing things out and briefly cooling things down back in the lower to mid 70s before another warmup for the middle of next week.
