Bernie Sanders Campaign First To Unionize
BERNIE SANDERS' CAMPAIGN HAS DECIDED TO UNIONIZE; CAMPAIGN SAYS THIS IS THE FIRST TIME A MAJOR PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN HAS UNIONIZED
(CNN) – Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign is unionizing.
His campaign for the democratic nomination says it’s the first time a major presidential campaign has unionized.
The staff chose “United Food and commercial workers local 400” as their representative.
The campaign manager for the Vermont senator issued a statement, saying, “Bernie Sanders is the most pro-union candidate in the field, he’ll be the most pro-union president in the white house and we’re honored that his campaign will be the first to have a unionized workforce.”
Another campaign could potentially follow in Sanders’ footsteps.
Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro, who’s also running for the Democratic nomination has said he would back his campaign staff if they chose to unionize.
