2019 Columbus Walk to End Alzheimer’s Volunteers Needed

Kick off party Thursday night at the Wicked Hen in Columbus

Susan Walker (Chair, Columbus Walk to End Alzheimer’s) and Autumn Amos (Alzheimer’s Association Staff Lead, Columbus Walk to End Alzheimer’s) stopped by the WLTZ studios to discuss the upcoming Walk and how you can get involved.

The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting Columbus and surrounding area residents to their volunteer kick-off party at the Wicked Hen in Columbus. Residents can learn how to get involved with the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Columbus.  Volunteer opportunities suit all interests and skill sets while having fun with rewarding work to advance the cause.  Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

Alzheimer’s Association staff and volunteer event committee will be on hand to answer any questions about volunteer opportunities as well as how you can sign up for the event.  A recognition ceremony will be held for our teams who fundraised last year. Appetizers will be served.

Hundreds of Columbus and area residents will join the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease at the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s. In 2018, the Columbus Walk raised over $149,000, contributing to more than $90 million raised nationwide for care, support and research efforts for those impacted by Alzheimer’s.

Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Participants will learn more about Alzheimer’s disease, advocacy opportunities, clinical studies enrollment and support programs and services. Walk participants also honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease with the poignant Promise Garden ceremony.
