MEASLES OUTBREAK IN WASHINGTON STATE GROWS AND NUMBERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY TOP 100
Kansas City, MO (KSHB) – It’s just February, but more than 100 cases of the measles have already been reported this year.
Washington State health officials confirm 58 cases linked to an outbreak that began last month.
Four of those cases are just over the state border in Oregon.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention linked the Washington State outbreak to a strain from eastern Europe after travelers returned from Ukraine with the illness.
Between January 1st and February 7th, patients in ten states were diagnosed with the disease.
New numbers will likely go up when the CDC issues its weekly update of affected states.
