Thunderstorms Today, Sunshine Wednesday

Low risk for severe weather this afternoon

A low pressure system will send a cold front through our area today with heavy rain and a few thunderstorms embedded in it. There will be enough instability for a MARGINAL risk of severe weather with strong winds the main concern, but cannot rule out tornado activity. Rain totals could hit half an inch for our area by late this evening.

As the system exits, skies will clear behind it with high pressure building in. After being warmer than normal today, expect temperatures to cool down near seasonal on Wednesday. Our next system is on track to push in Thursday night into Friday with more rain in store.

TODAY: Fog in the morning with showers likely and possibly a few thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 60s to low 70s. Windy with gusts up to 25 mph.  Some areas could see gusts of 40-60 mph. Up to half of an inch rainfall is possible.

TONIGHT: Isolated showers under mostly cloudy skies. Lows in the mid 30s to around 40. Windy with gusts up to 20 mph.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and cooler with highs in the mid 50s to low 60s.

Keep smiling!
