Soldier Killed in Combat Immortalized on Fort Benning
Building 9171 on post at Fort Benning is now named Bolyard Hall.
It’s an uncommon honor for a super soldier killed in the line of duty.
Fort Benning’s 3rd Squadron 1st, Security Force Assistance Brigade has named their new headquarters building after a fallen comrade.
Building 9171 on post is now Bolyard hall.
The building is dedicated to the late 42 year old command sergeant major Tim Bolyard.
The 42 year old Bolyard, was the highest ranking enlisted soldier in the 3rd Squadron 1st, Security Force Assistance Brigade which deployed to Afghanistan with the highly specialized 1st SFAB unit in march.
He was on his 10th deployment when he died from small arms fire wounds received during an insider attack in Afghanistan.
Bolyard saw action in Iraq, Kuwait , Quatar and Afghanistan.
Soldier knew their enlisted leader as a highly decorated combat soldier who was awarded six bronze stars two with valor.
His wife Amy was a guest of honor at this tribute to the soldier she loved.
