Volunteers Provide an Opelika Mom and Her Disabled Daughter a Wheel Chair Ramp

The Upshurs now have a chance to show off the incredible craftsmanship performed by the Serve team made up of members of the opelika church of the Highlands.

It’s out with the old and in with the new Handicapped ramp at an Opelika Mobile home.

When we last left Arva Upshur she was helping her disabled daughter up and down some rugged steps at their Opelika Mobile home.

Not long after our story aired an outpouring of support came in offering to build a handicapped ramp for this family in need.

The Upshurs now have a chance to show the incredible craftsmanship performed by the Serve Team made up of members of the Opelika church of the highlands.

Mary Kuhn says, “The Lord says we are to bless others and that’s what we get to do is bless others.”

Jerry Jackson says, “It’s a wonderful feeling to be able to give back to someone who is wanting to do for themselves but can’t.”

Arva’s disabled daughter was at work and could not be here for this last report.

But her mom confirms Mary will now be able to get to and from work using this wonderful handicapped ramp built with love by Christian volunteers completely free of charge.

Service Team leader Rick Kuhn says, “We have a great team. They see a need and we fill it.”

Arva Upshur says, “This is awesome. I thank you guys so much. Mari she is just so happy and so am I.
