SB53 Commemorative Programs Set Off Airport Scanners

Springfield-Holyoke, MA (WWLP) – Attention Super Bowl-goers: don’t pack your gameday programs in checked luggage.
A TSA spokesperson says the souvenir will interfere with x-ray screening because it contains metallic, holographic pages.
The TSA recommends that the program be placed in a bin for screening so it can be visually inspected.
Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport sent out the following tweet Monday, “Good morning Atlanta! Quick reminder… for security purposes, please place your ATL Super Bowl 53 commemorative program in your carry-on bag. have a safe flight.”
More than 300,000 passengers are expected to travel through Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson airport Monday.
