Robert Sanders Named Spencer High School Head Football Coach

SPENCER ATHLETIC DIRECTOR AND WRESTLING COACH WILL TRANSITION TO HEAD FOOTBALL COACH

The Spencer high school football team has named their new head coach and they didn’t have to go far to find him.

Wrestling coach and athletic director Robert Sanders will take over at the helm of the football program.

Sanders has a long background in coaching, formerly working as a special teams coordinator, defensive coordinator, and offensive coordinator.

This will be coach Sanders first head football coaching position at the high school level.

Sanders describes this opportunity as something to put on a bucket list saying, “I’ve always had that yearning to get back on the sideline. I didn’t know if it was going to be possible, so like I said the kids are excited, I’m excited, everybody is, so you know this will probably be my final call as far as my coaching career, and I just want to do a good job.”

“He is a familiar face. He is around the school. He has been here since I was a freshman. He’s always had open arms to everybody, so we are just excited to play for him,” says Spencer high school junior wide receiver Malachi Morris.
