Researchers from Columbia University tracked the physical activity of 8 thousand adults.

They found replacing just 30 minutes of sitting with low intensity exercise reduced the risk of early death by 17 percent.

But swapping a half an hour of sitting for moderate or vigorous activity was twice as effective.
