A Colder Thursday
Rain this Weekend
There will be more sunshine today, but the chilly air digs in so it will be colder than yesterday with highs topping out in the mid 40s to low 50s. A good portion of the area will dip below the freezing mark tonight. The last time time Columbus was at or below freezing was on Christmas Day when it hit 32. The last time for Auburn was December 12th when temps dipped to 26. We are looking at that possibility again tonight. With the gusty winds subsiding, wind chills should not be much of an issue. High pressure keeps us dry on Friday, but this comes to an end for the weekend as low pressure moves in from the west.
Expect a chilly and damp Saturday with light rain in the late afternoon and evening. More moderate showers are possible for Sunday morning into the early afternoon as the surface low exits stage right. High pressure returns Monday to keep us dry through at least the middle part of next week. Temperatures should be a bit warmer as well.
Today: Sunshine with highs in the mid 40s to low 50s. North winds near 10 mph with gusts up to 15 mph.
Tonight: Clear and frigid with lows in the mid 20s to around 30. North winds around 5 mph. Be sure to bring in pets, plants and cover up .
Tomorrow: More sunshine with highs in the upper 40s to mid 50s. Calmer northeast winds turning southeast around 5 mph.
