Flu is Considered Widespread in Alabama and Georgia

The flu is now considered widespread in Alabama and in Georgia.

That means almost every county in our two states are reporting high levels of influenza.

East Alabama Medical Center has even restricted visitors who have flu like symptoms to protect their patients.

Flu season usually lasts from October through May with the peak being from January to March.

Doctors say the best way to protect yourself, get the flu shot.

Also, wash your hands, sneeze into a tissue or your arm and stay home if you’re under the weather!
