In-school nutrition programs focused on healthy eating can also help reduce teen obesity.

A new Yale University study tracked nearly 600 middle school students across the state of Connecticut.

It showed kids in schools with enhanced nutrition programs were much less likely to become obese.

The programs included nutritional newsletters for families campaigns to limit sugary drinks and banning the use of food as rewards.
