One Last Sunny Day Today
RAINFALL INCREASES THURSDAY, HEAVY RAIN POSSIBLE TO END 2018
The day after Christmas will feature mostly sunny skies for one more day before the weather goes downhill to end 2018.
Highs will be in the 60s for most of the area today as clouds will start to increase tonight and especially into Thursday.
Rain chances begin to ramp up Thursday afternoon and evening, peaking into the nighttime hours into Friday morning as heavy rain and thunderstorms become possible. An inch or two is possible with this initial wave of rainfall.
More in the way of rainy weather is expected to end 2018 before a cold front finally moves through on New Year’s Day to cool us off and clear us out for 2019. By the time all is said and done, some areas may see 3 to 5 inches of rain between now and next Tuesday, with isolated spots of areal flooding becoming possible late this weekend into early next week.
