More Americans Injured by Pets

Your Health Minute

Spiders, snakes and dogs being kept as pets injure more Americans in 2018.

In Your Health Minute,

A new Standford study shows the healthcare costs of injuries caused by animals tops one billion dollars a year.

That figure does not include doctors fees, clinic charges or lost productivity.

Nearly half of animal injuries were caused by non-venomous insect and spider bites and a quarter were from dog bites.

Only 3 percent of patients needed to be admitted to the hospital.
