Beauregard High School Placed on Lockdown

Due to an Unconfirmed Report that a Student Brought a Gun to School

Beauregard high school was on lockdown for a few hours Thursday due to an unconfirmed report that a student brought a gun to school.

According to Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones the school went on lockdown around noon, and after a few hours, the high school was placed on secure area which means it’s one step below a lockdown as deputies let students leave.

Thursday morning a school resource officer overheard a conversation that a student had a gun on campus.

So out of an abundance of caution, the high school was placed on lockdown.

Worried parents waited outside texting their kids inside the high school. But, they said they are grateful for the quick response of deputies.

As of now, no gun has been found on campus and no arrests have been made.
