Chilly weather will linger through Thanksgiving, compliments of a dome of high pressure across the Plains. Expect another round of patchy frost to start off our Thanksgiving; otherwise a vale of high clouds will mingle with the sun.
That same dome of high pressure will keep wet weather, currently over the western Gulf of Mexico, well off to our south. However, a cold front approaching Friday morning will kick up a cold wind for Black Friday morning shoppers, so plan accordingly.
Meanwhile, another storm system currently along the west coast, will dip toward the gulf, grabbing moisture and returning it northward into our area. The starting time for the rain will likely be Friday night, persisting into Saturday morning. Some heavy rain is possible before the storm exits, allowing a returning dose of sunshine later Saturday and great afternoon football weather!
The rest of the weekend will stay mild, although a cold front arriving Sunday night can spark a thunderstorm, and return colder weather to the region for early next week.
