Barnes & Noble: Michelle Obama’s Book Milestone

BARNES & NOBLE SAYS MICHELLE OBAMA'S NEW BOOK HAS BIGGEST FIRST-WEEK SALES OF 2018

(CNN) – The former first lady of the United States is the current first lady of book sales.

Barnes and Noble said Monday that Michelle Obama’s memoir “Becoming” had the biggest first week sales of any book this year.

It snatched the lead from Bob Woodward’s book “Fear,” which dissects the Trump administration.

According to Barnes and Noble, “Becoming” saw the highest first week sales of any adult book since Harper Lee’s “Go Set a Watchman” in 2015.

That was the highly anticipated sequel to “To Kill a Mockingbird,” which came out more than 50 years after the original.

Michelle Obama has supported her book with a national signing tour and multiple appearances on TV talk shows.

“Becoming” is currently also the number one book on Amazon.

It is expected to top the New York Times best selling books list when that list is published Wednesday.
