Jeff Sessions Resigns
Attorney General Jeff Sessions is out as Attorney General after President Trump effectively fired him. In a letter to White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, sessions wrote quote “At your request I am submitting my resignation”.
President Trump said Matthew Whitaker will take over as acting Attorney General. Whitaker, who was sessions’ Chief of Staff, is also expected to take charge of the Russia investigation.
President Trump tweeted a permanent replacement for sessions will be nominated at a later date. President Trump says he is “extremely” satisfied with his cabinet.
