Chance of Showers Today, Storms Tomorrow

MARGINAL RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER TUESDAY MORNING

Monday started off foggy and cloudy, with very mild conditions as a result of the moisture content in the air. Clouds will break up later in the morning towards afternoon, and scattered showers may break out in the sun later today. Highs will be in the middle to upper 70s.

Severe weather is likely to our north and west tonight, dropping south and east late tonight and early Tuesday morning. By the time the storms reach our area, they should be in a much weaker state than the tornadic supercells that are possible to our northwest late tonight. While isolated damaging winds and maybe even a tornado cannot be ruled out, the risk will be much lower since the main energy will be ejecting northeast away from the area.

Chances for showers and storms stick around through the end of the week before a cold front finally scours out the moisture on Friday. The weekend looks cooler, with colder weather on tap for early next week, perhaps bringing the first freeze to parts of the area by next Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Lots of time to iron out those details.
