Rain Returns Thursday
A cool front arriving from the north under the cover of darkness will not be accompanied by any wet weather. However, a wind shift associated with the front will drive our latest batch of clouds southbound toward the gulf coast. That will allow for a clearing sky overnight, and another round of cool weather so plan accordingly.
Sunshine Wednesday will make for a nice afternoon, so take advantage of it. A combination of storms brewing toward the west, will be arriving Thursday afternoon. One storm is situated over the western Gulf of Mexico. The other is Willa. Willa, once a major hurricane, originated over the eastern Pacific Ocean, and is currently weakening rapidly over western Mexico. The storm will be ripped apart by the rugged terrain, but its associated moisture will tag team with the western gulf storm. The end result will be rain arriving here Thursday afternoon, and continuing into Friday morning.
Cold air on the backside of this storm will hang on for several days; reinforced by additional cold fronts Saturday night and Monday. Fear not, ghouls and goblins; Halloween looks to be alright with a nice rebound in temperatures. Stay tuned.
