Scholar Athlete: Brookstone Cheer Team, Abby Beaver
BROOKSTONE SENIOR CHEER CAPTAIN HAS HIGH EXPECTATIONS FOR HER TEAM AND HERSELF
Brookstone Senior Abby Beaver has always challenged herself to be her best and she did just that in the classroom by taking college level courses for the past two years.
“I took a lot more AP [courses] last year just to try and get ready for Junior year and try to get into college,” Says Abby Beaver. “Balancing school and cheer just takes a few years to get used to.”
She’s maintained a 3.6 GPA while competing for the Brookstone Cougars cheer team. Her hard work has paid off there as well as she’s a team Captain that her teammates look up to.
“They trust me to lead them throughout the season to our victories. Last weekend we got first place. They’re looking up to me to lead them throughout”
As a leader on her team Abby has big goals.
“[We] definitely want to make it to state again. Last year was a great time, we got second. We just want to build up from there”
While many of Abby’s goals and accomplishments for Senior year are yet to come, she was named Brookstone School’s 2018 Homecoming Queen.
“It was pure shock. I was not expecting it at all. It was just a great time being at out the court with all my best friends”
Congratulations Abby beaver WLTZ’s Scholar Athlete of the Week!
