Michael Could Bring Hurricane Force Winds to the Area this Evening

Heavy Rains and Strong Winds are Expected

Hurricane Michael will push to the east-southeast of our viewing area this afternoon through Thursday morning. Expect heavy downpours and strong wind gusts up to 45mph with 74mph+ gusts (equivalent to a Cat 1 hurricane) south-east of Muscogee County. Heavy rainfall of 2-4 inches with locally higher amounts expected, so flash flooding is possible. The rain will continue through late Thursday morning before Michael exits to the northeast and much nicer weather filters in for the weekend.

Weekend highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s with lows in the mid 50s to low 60s.
