Scholar Athlete: Central High School Volleyball, Brianna Dass
Senior captain of the varsity volleyball team at Central high school, Bree Dass is all about giving back to her community.
She has participated in “Help the Hooch,” wrapping gifts and giving them to foster kids, as well as other volunteer services.
Another one of her passions is art.
“I like to experiment with a whole bunch of different arts like painting and drawing and murals and stuff like that. It’s like another one of my favorite past times,” says Central high school senior libero Brianna Dass.
She has competed on the state and national level for her artistic abilities. That work ethic also carries into the classroom with a 3.9 GPA.
“Gosh I want to make all A’s so bad. I want to make A’s so bad. I think I made two B’s last year and I was really broken up about it. I was like, I really need to do better so I’m just working really hard and trying to keep focus and I know it’s the last year, so I’ve got to make the most of it,” says Dass.
Juggling school work, art, clubs, and volleyball can be overwhelming. Bree is able to balance all of those things with help from her head coach.
“A lot of it is communication between me and my coach actually, because I will be really stressed about a project and I’ll stay up really late and I’m like hey coach I really have to work on this in 7th period, I really have to do this, I really have to get this done because I’m freaking out and she’ll let me do it and I can kind of release some stress on the court and have fun,” says Dass.
Bree has her sights set on attending an art school after high school specifically SCAD, but she wouldn’t be opposed if an opportunity presented itself to play volleyball in college.
Congratulations to Brianna Dass of Central high school this weeks WLTZ scholar athlete.
