Auburn Achieves Second-Highest Ranking in Program History

After making history with its seventh straight win to start the season vs. Cincinnati last Sunday, Auburn soccer achieved its second-highest ranking in program history as the Tigers appeared at No. 9 in the United Soccer Coaches poll Tuesday.

The No. 9 ranking matches the 2015 team for the second-highest in program history. The same team was also ranked No. 8 during the season, tying the Tigers final ranking from the 2016 season as the highest in program history.

Auburn is the second-highest ranked team in the Southeastern Conference and the Southeast region. The team also checked in at No. 15 in the Top Drawer Soccer poll.

The Tigers are one of eight teams in Division I women’s soccer with an unblemished record and one of five teams with a 7-0-0 or better record.

Auburn opens its SEC season with a battle of unbeatens against Mississippi State (7-0-0) Friday at 6:30 p.m. CT at the Auburn Soccer Complex. Admission to all Auburn soccer home contests is free.
