Gordon Swings; Gordon Misses

Wet At Times This Week

A couple showers and a thunderstorm (likely non-severe) will traverse the region from east to west before calming down later tonight.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Gordon is over the eastern Gulf of Mexico, headed toward Mississippi.   While no direct impact from Gordon will occur around here, the storm will help to enhance a shower and thunderstorm for us come Tuesday.

Gordon will move onshore late Tuesday night, with its moisture field becoming fairly diffuse over the rest of this week.  However, high pressure nosing in from the western Atlantic Ocean will likely keep Gordon’s moisture away.   We’ll contend with a random afternoon or evening thunderstorm Wednesday through Friday, although the pesky seabreeze thunderstorms will have to be watched how far inland they can make it later this week.    Overall, higher heat, although no records, will return for most of this week into the following week.   Basically, Summer isn’t done with us yet!
