Pop-Up PM T-Storm This Weekend

Summer Sticks Around

The last holiday of the Summer season is upon us, as is football season!

The axis of a tropical wave in the Gulf of Mexico will shift closer to Texas this holiday weekend. Therefore, the moisture associated with it will also shift toward Texas. That doesn’t leave us in the lurch, but the amount of thunderstorm activity each afternoon or evening should be more miss than hitl. So, once again, keep those outdoor plans, but also keep an eye to the sky.

If there is any change in the amount of wet weather over the next several days, it would come from a broad area of low pressure near the Dominican Republic. This feature will track into the eastern Gulf of Mexico early next week. The question is whether or not it will be large enough to bring some wet weather this far north, as the storm track will remain to our south, over the gulf. Stay tuned, stay safe, and have a great Labor Day weekend!
