Trump Admin Sanctions Russia Over Skripal
TRUMP ADMIN SLAPS MORE SANCTIONS ON RUSSIA OVER POISONING OF FORMER RUSSIA AGENT
(CNN) – The Trump administration is imposing more sanctions on Russia.
The decision comes after the poisoning of former Russian agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter in the U.K. earlier this year.
U.S. officials are accusing Russia of being behind the poisonings; putting them in violation of an international chemical and biological warfare law.
Russian president Vladimir Putin has previously denied that Russia was involved.
President Trump said in the wake of the poisonings that “it certainly looks like” Russia was behind it.
The sanctions are expected to go into effect around August 22nd.
