Justin Newman Will Lead the Spencer High School Football Team As the New Head Coach

NEWMAN TAKES THE JOB AFTER PIERRE COFFEY MOVES INTO ADMINISTRATIVE ROLE

Former Jordan head coach Justin Newman will lead the Spencer football team this season.

Newman was actually asked to be coach Pierre Coffey’s offensive coordinator for the Greenwave before being hired as the head coach as Coffey moved to an administrative role.

So far its been smooth sailing with the team at the brand new facilities as he implements his idea of a fast, hard, and physical mentality.

“A lot of the job’s that I have taken have been rebuilding jobs and this isn’t one of those. Coffey had built something pretty good, actually very good not really pretty good but hopefully I can help get them over the hump,” says Spencer high school head football coach Justin Newman.

“Its going good it’s comfortable because he is real organized and he treats us just like a family so it’s really easy to get real close to him,” says Spencer senior defensive end Kevonta Fanning.

“I can say he’s like a college program everything is high pace double practice things like that,” says Spencer junior quarterback Terrell Gordon.

Spencer’s first game of the season is next Friday against Columbus at Kinnett Stadium.
