U.S. REIMPOSES SANCTIONS AGAINST IRAN
(CNN) – It’s official.
The first set of unilateral U.S. sanctions against Iran went into effect midnight last night.
Additional sanctions are expected over the next few months.
These rounds of sanctions will impact Iran’s ability to buy or acquire U.S. Dollar banknotes and gold and precious metals.
They will also play a factor on the country’s auto industry and sovereign debt.
The European Commission, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom all criticized the Trump administration’s plan Monday.
Also on Monday, president Trump said he is open to meeting with iran’s leaders.
But that he would want them to be quote meaningful.
