Not Many Storms Until Next Week
Our latest wave of low pressure, or storm system, will slowly lift out toward the Carolinas, allowing somewhat drier air to the north to infiltrate. A couple things will happen when this takes place. #1 The number and coverage to afternoon thunderstorms will diminish- greatly! #2 It’ll get hot again, with the heat index topping out in excess of 100 degrees.
On the flip side, another cool front approaching early next week will tap into Gulf moisture, allowing extreme humidity to return. The combination of more clouds than sun, and more thunderstorms will put a lid on the Summer heat headed into next week. So really, it’s a give-and-take: the more storms there are, the less heat; the less storms, the more heat. We’ll continue to go back-and-forth for the remainder of Summer and Fall. Enjoy!
