Nick Saban Accepts MacArthur Bowl Trophy at SEC Media Days

SABAN ACCEPTED THE AWARD ON BEHALF OF THE TEAM IN THE ROTUNDA AT THE CFB HALL OF FAME

SEC Media Days in Atlanta just got a little more special. Alabama head coach Nick Saban ended the day off being awarded the MacArthur Bowl trophy for the first time ever from SEC Media Days.

The MacArthur Bowl trophy has been awarded to the college football national champions since 1959.

The trophy is 400 pounds of pure Tiffany & Co. silver coming in at a whopping $500,000.

Saban was presented the trophy by none other than former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy.

“I’d be remised if I didn’t talk about just how beautiful it is and how appropriate it is to be located in the great city of Atlanta. Of course this is the heart and soul of the SEC, and even though I am a Birmingham resident, this is an appropriate place to hold summer fest and to present such an incredible incredible trophy,” says former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy.

For Saban this championship was more fulfilling than ever before after having to go through so much adversity last season to get here.
