Advisers to Starbucks: Do More to End Racial Bias
A NEW REPORT SAYS STARBUCKS ISN'T DOING ENOUGH TO ADDRESS RACIAL BIAS
(CNN) – A new report says Starbucks isn’t doing enough to combat racial bias.
The data was put together by two Civil Rights experts and it comes about a month after the coffee chain shut down its stores nationwide for training.
The legal counsel for the NAACP says one day’s worth of instruction isn’t sufficient.
Starbucks is also advised to hire an “independent racial equity consultant” to prevent similar problems in the future.
This situation brewed after an incident on April 12 when two black men were arrested inside a Starbucks as they were waiting for a friend.
