Thursday T-Storm Threat

Heat Simmers

Hit/miss showers and thunderstorms will slowly wind down under the cover of darkness.   Meanwhile, high humidity lingers with the electric bill going sky high.

A few more thunderstorms will pop-up Thursday afternoon and evening, but there will remain enough time to eclipse the 90 degree barrier once again, with the heat index just in excess of 100 degrees!

Friday will likely turn out more tranquil than recent days with limited thunderstorm activity. However, during this time a compact area of low pressure will form over the northeast Gulf of Mexico, just off the coast of the panhandle of Florida. The size of that storm will tell the tale as to whether or not there is an uptick in wet weather coverage here this weekend, so stay abreast of the situation if you’re traveling. As that low pressure moves farther away toward Texas, more isolated thunderstorm coverage is likely again early next week.
