Facebook Launches News Programs For ‘Watch’

FACEBOOK LAUNCHES NEWS SHOWS FROM ABC, CNN AND MORE

(CNN) – Social media giant Facebook is teaming up multiple media organizations to launch news programs on its “Watch” video service.

The news organizations include ABC, CNN, and Fox News.

Facebook will pay for the shows, which will appear exclusively on its platform.

Many of the first shows will resemble cable and broadcast programming in terms of talent and tone.

For example, CNN’s Anderson Cooper will host a show called “Anderson Cooper Full Circle.”

Another show, “Fox News Update,” will be hosted by Fox’s Shepard Smith.

It’s all part of the company’s push to repair its relationship with the news industry and restore user trust after various misinformation and data privacy scandals .
