Week Two Of T-Storms & Humidity

Tropical Funny Business?

Another compact storm that originated over the Gulf of Mexico will hinder travel every now and again as doses of showers and thunderstorms will criss-cross the region.  A thundershower will linger in a couple neighborhoods well past midnight, and to start off Tuesday. If there is a silver lining, the risk of severe weather in this tropical, humid air is almost nil. However, the re-occurrence of showers and thunderstorms throughout the week, including the upcoming holiday weekend can lead to flooding in a few areas.

Expect additional showers and thunderstorms every now and then Tuesday and Wednesday as this latest Gulf of Mexico storm is slow to fizzle on its way northward. A downward trend in thundershower coverage area is expected later this week. However, another storm will be developing over the southeast Gulf, or northwest Caribbean and traveling northward into our area this weekend. It’s not out of the realm of possibilities that this next storm becomes the first tropical depression of the season, although odds do not favor that at this time. Regardless, some wet weather will continue through Memorial Day, so plan accordingly.
