National Average for Gas Prices Up 53 Cents From Last Year

THE NATIONAL AVERAGE IS CURRENTLY $2.87 BUT COULD REACH $3 BY MEMORIAL DAY

(CNN) – The national gas price average is up 53 cents from this time last year and is expected to continue rising.

The current national average is two dollars and 87 cents a gallon but experts say it could reach $3.00 by Memorial Day.

This is particularly challenging this time of year due to the increase in summer travel.

The price hike is partially due to president Trump’s decision to reimpose sanctions on Iran after withdrawing from the nuclear deal.
