Starbucks CEO Says Bathrooms are Open to Anyone
STARBUCKS TO ALLOW ANYONE TO USE ITS BATHROOMS
(CNN) – Starbucks bathrooms will soon be open to anyone who needs them, not just customers.
That’s what company chairman Howard Schultz announced on Thursday.
He said Starbucks does not want anyone to feel that there is any kind of bias against him.
The decision follows a recent incident in Philadelphia, where two black men were arrested at Starbucks.
They asked to use the bathroom, but were turned away because they were not paying customers.
They later took a table without ordering anything, so the manager called police, who arrested them for trespassing.
The incident led to a public backlash and Stabucks promised to train its employees about racial bias.
