Lyft Officially Going Carbon Neutral
LYFT MAKES ITS TRIPS CARBON NEUTRAL IN BID TO FIGHT CLIMATE CHANGE
(CNN) – Lyft has big goals in place to go green!
The ridesharing company announced Thursday it plans to spend millions of dollars to make all of its rides carbon neutral.
They’ll do it through something known as carbon offsets.
Anyone, individuals or businesses can purchase carbon offsets.
That purchase price then goes toward funding projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions; which is what Lyft says it’s going to do, to compensate for all the emissions it uses.
The move follows other Silicon Valley companies like Google and Apple, which have bought enough renewable energy to power all of their operations.
