Alabama Columnist John Archibald Wins a Pulitzer
Archibald was recognized for his "lyrical and courageous commentary" about allegations that Moore pursued teenage girls sexually decades ago while he was in his 30's in Gadsden, Alabama.
An Alabama columnist wins a Pulitzer for writing about republican Roy Moore during Alabama’s U.S. senate campaign last year.
John Archibald of the Alabama Media Group was awarded journalism’s highest honor for commentary.
The award committee said Archibald was recognized for his “lyrical and courageous commentary” about allegations that Moore pursued teenage girls sexually decades ago while he was in his 30’s in Gadsden, Alabama.
Doug Jones upset Moore to become the first democrat elected to the senate from Alabama in decades.
Moore’s wife, Kayla, criticized the award.
According to AL.com Kayla Moore said,”When journalism becomes a political tool to assassinate someone’s character with false accusations because they disagree with him politically, it is no longer journalism and not worthy of any prize,”
