Your Health Minute

African Americans more likely to suffer heart disease when they smoke.

In Your Health Minute,

Scientist at the University of Mississippi found African Americans who smoke have a much higher risk of heart failure than non smokers.

In fact, hospitalizations for heart failure were three times higher among black smokers.

But, it’s never to later to kick the habit.

The study found no link between heart failure and people who had quit smoking.
