National Park Entrance Fees to Increase By $5

PRICE TO ENTER MANY NATIONAL PARKS IS GOING UP BY $5

(CNN) – Get ready to spend more cash to see America’s National Parks, but not nearly as much as an earlier proposal.

The National Park Service released the new entrance fees plan Thursday.

This year, the price to get in to many parks will go up by $5.00 per vehicle.

For example, the Grand Canyon entrance will be $35 starting June 1st.

About two thirds of the country’s parks will remain free.

The original proposal under the trump administration called for raising admission charges during peak season to $70.

The response to that plan was swift and negative.

The additional funds will help with maintenance projects across the 417 parks.
