CSU Golf Places Three on PBC All-Academic Team


The Columbus State University men’s and women’s golf programs had three players named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team.

Hannah Holland and Anna Meleshkina represented the Lady Cougars on the 16-member women’s team, while Matt Zerbel was the lone Cougar on the 14-player men’s team.

Holland has played in seven of the eight tournaments this season for the Lady Cougars, carrying a stroke average of 82.3. The junior tallied her best finish of the season in the most recent event, taking 14th at the UWG Invitational.

Meleshkina leads the Lady Cougars with a 79.4 stroke average in 18 rounds this season. The sophomore has five top-15 finishes in eight events this season, including a season-best fifth-place showing at the UWG Invitational.

Zerbel has played in seven of the nine events for the Cougars, ranking fourth on the team with a 73.7 stroke average. Zerbel has finished inside the top-15 in three tournaments, notching his best finish as a Cougar in 10th at the TVA Credit Union Invite.

Both teams are preparing for this weekend’s PBC Championship, which will take place Friday through Sunday in St. Augustine, Fla.
