Patients with IBD found to. be at greater risk of heart disease.

People with inflammatory bowel disease may face an increased risk of a heart attack.

That’s according to research from University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.

The study of over 17 million adults showed people with inflammatory bowel disease were nearly a quarter more likely to have a heart attack.

The risk was even higher for patients under age 40.

Experts say doctors should closely monitor patients with IBD and take any symptoms of hear disease like chest pains very seriously.
